is pharmaceutical carbon dioxide?
Why
does carbon dioxide have such a beneficial effect on healing?
Carbon dioxide does not cure wounds or conditions lie arthritis. But it does create a better healing environment. In three ways:
It triggers the formation of new blood vessels (angiogenesis) and eventually, permanent tissue;
It forces red blood cells to release oxygen and causes small blood vessels to dilate. As a result blood flow through the tissue increases and extra oxygen is released;
It reduces inflammation.
Pharmaceutical carbon dioxide is also an antioxidant, it is sterile, and it stops bacteria from reproducing without killing it (known as bacteriostatic)
How
is pharmaceutical carbon dioxide administered?
The Dioxyfin canister holds a blend of pharmaceutical carbon dioxide and water in a highly concentrated mist. A plastic sleeve is placed over the injured or diseased area, the air inside it is removed, and Dioxyfin is sprayed into the sleeve, where it diffuses into the skin. This usually takes about 20 minutes.
